If END is Imminent, Why Witness in Silence in Public Places?
by ProfCNJ inwe were taught for 100 years that the end or armageddon is imminent, as if it is coming in a hurry.
but look now at the new way of sharing god's kingdom in uk which i find as a complete irony.
"thousands have switched tactics to stand on street corners in more than a dozen cities across britain - and unusually for public preachers, they are staying almost completely silent... unlike other evangelical preachers, they do not shout or call attention to themselves - instead standing in near-silence until someone approaches them."http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2691254/how-jehovahs-witnesses-got-street-smart-believers-swap-infamous-doorstepping-standing-outside-train-stations-shops.html.

by pixel inok, is this a "new understanding" or what?
up until this point i thought that the borg refered paul as a co or do, but never gb member:.

Convention Season-"Saving Good Seats" & Other Embarrassing Behavior
by Darth Fader The Sequel insince it is the convention season (and i am not attending this year or ever again), and i have been seeing other posts about some of the goings on at the various ic's and rc's, i am reminded of some of the truly embarrassing behavior i have "witnessed" (pun intended) over my lifetime of being a jdub at the various conventions and assemblies.
probably the most disillusioning experience at a convention that i have ever had was one year when i volunteered to be an attendant.
all of the volunteers were asked to attend a special meeting a few months beforehand to get instructions for our duties as attendants.

Hummingbird001- you are so right. The early birds get the aisle seats, never get up during the session and take diligent notes, and they get all indignant when a family with small kids has to get past them. There are way too many of those people.

jgnat- people are on their phones and iPads. That is why the QR's are popping up all over the place amongst the devout rank and file. The QR's are direct links to the JW.ORG to get a quick (see: cheap) sermon to some unsuspecting person who happens to click on the QR that their "friend the JW" sent them or shared on social media. It is all so predictable and formatted.

Apognophos- if you saw the foot speed of many of these "brothers and sisters" you would never call them "weak".

ADCMS- excellent list you have there. Dead on. Those are smart CORPORATE decisions, not "earthly kingdom of god" decisions.

I think the WTBT$ has fully realized how much of a waste of money (the volunteer's time is not a concern of theirs) it is to be spreading literature all over the world in the traditional door-to-door activity. Ninety-nine percent of what is placed at the doors is thrown directly in the trash. Highly ineffective. So, they have obviously decided, in their infinite wisdom, to transition into an online presence with JW.ORG which costs a mere fraction of what running a global printing company does. It makes perfect sense from a business standpoint if you wanted to keep the money you have and stop bleeding money you do not have to. However! It will take time to get this re-branding campaign fully operational in the minds of the rank and file JDub so that they have a full "buy in" to the new program. So, in the meantime, during this transitional phase, the literature trollies are the thing to do to keep the devout rank and file active and mentally engaged in their routine. I would bet that the literature trollies will go away completely within just a couple of years once the JW.ORG campaign is fully implemented.

Someone needs to Photoshop (I would if I knew how) a photo of the crowd at a Monday Night Football game where the idiot stands there with the John 3:16 sign and put JW.ORG sign in its place.
And yes, that is what this religion has come to. Cheap, phony, MLM, Amway, Avon marketing to the gullible masses. It is disturbing.

Steve2- I agree, it would be very revealing to have "the stampede" on video. If I were still involved in the attendant nonsense I would happily record the spectacle.
